Dilworth: Is synonymous with living “In Town Charlotte.” The neighborhood is located southwest of Uptown and the original city limits. It is bordered by SouthEnd and Wilmore to the west; Uptown to the north; Myers Park to the east; and Sedgefield to the south.
Dilworth is one of the most popular neighborhoods, the oldest “streetcar suburb,” and is the largest designated Local Historic District. It is known as Charlotte’s first streetcar suburb, as it was outside the original city limits! Now, Dilworth is about as close to Uptown as any neighborhood, and is connected to the central business district by the city’s first light rail train, the Lynx Blue Line. East Boulevard is the main thoroughfare; it offers some of the regions best dining, retail and prime office locations. The neighborhood boasts one of the most active voluntary community associations in the city, the Dilworth Community Development Association.
